  I have been exceedingly impressed with the services of Will Smart at Elsby & Co. I approached him with a rather dated personal tax query, where over a three year period the correct tax (to include a company car) had not been paid. Despite personal unsuccessful attempts with both HMRC & my employer to question this, I had resigned myself to the fact the money needed to be paid and reluctantly agreed to having a K tax code over a three year period to repay the deficit. It was some years later, I approached Elsby & Co & explained the situation. Will's professionalism & knowledge were second to none and he assured me it was worth pursuing and spoke of previous cases similar to mine where tax had been returned due to employer error/liability. He persevered on my behalf over a number of months with HMRC. Needless to say I was completely speechless when I received a cheque in January this year for ВЈ5308! I had completely written off seeing this money again. I am enormously grateful to the skill and expertise of Will Smart at Elsby & Co & would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a professional, capable & dedicated accountant. Best decision I ever made.

  Following a restructure of my business I decided to look at the service providers I was using and change the ones I wasn't happy with. One of these happened to be my accountants. I had a feeling that the service and advice I was receiving wasn't quite where it should be. I had meet Clare at several events over the years and spoke to her about a change. I sat down with my old records and Ben from Elsby & Co for a chat. After a few minutes of looking over the old records Ben was convinced there was a saving to be made. He was unsure of the amount at the time but estimated around ВЈ1000. At the end of last week I received an email to say I was due a refund from HMRC of over ВЈ1000 as my last accountants had made several errors in submitting my past 2 years worth of accounts. I certainly feel I've made the right choice in changing accountants. If your unsure about how well your accountants are doing it's well worth taking Elsby & Co up on their offer of a free chat about your accounts.
